THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THE ISPCAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.  WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING FURTHER SUBMISSIONS.

We are delighted to be able to offer a limited number of partial scholarships to help those attending ISPCAN Congresses or Conferences. The following selection criteria outlined below are used to assist the award process. Partial scholarships are awarded in order to supplement funds already raised by the potential delegates.

Criteria that will be used to guide the selection of scholarship recipients:

Delegates must:

  • Be current ISPCAN members
  • Have not received funding to attend an ISPCAN Conference or Congress in the past 3 years

Preference is given to delegates who are:

  • presenting at the ISPCAN congress or conference
  • attending the ISPCAN congress or conference for the first time
  • from countries where there is not currently strong ISPCAN representation
  • from countries that are listed as developing countries by the World Bank
  • indigenous peoples
  • active in their communities and have the ability to take the benefits of this educational experience back to their communities or to offer local or national training
  • working in child protection professions that are traditionally not high-paying
  • able to obtain local matching or some minimum contribution of funding to enable their attendance

In general, one sponsorship per country will be awarded. The scholarship application form must be fully completed and returned to the ISPCAN Secretariat by April 15th. Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline of April 15th will not be considered.

Scholarship recipients are required to cover the remainder of their own costs incurred for the conference outside the scholarship amount. This includes registration costs, airfare, hotel, and all other costs. Partial scholarships are an assistance towards the normal costs incurred with conferences, but ISPCAN does not waive any of the above associated fees.

With sincere thanks, we acknowledge Elsevier Publishing and the University of Calgary for providing the funds necessary to make these scholarships available.

Thank you for being part of the ISPCAN’s effort to protect children from abuse and neglect worldwide!
